Hi, I am Richard Blair the Pastor at Community of Christ church Alaska branch, as of June 1, 2008. I have served as counselor to a previous pastor two terms. I was ordained to the office of Elder August 25 2002. Prior to that I was ordained to the office of Deacon June 1993. I have been a member of this branch since 1975.

Over the years I have had the opportunity to serve on many committees and departments.

The most memorable was Youth Director. Our department which supported a 16 member staff and about 60 to 70 kids.

My wife Shirley, holds the office of Deacon and we were ordained at the same time to the same office, June 1993. We met at one of our church camps, Camp Manitou, working on a major remodel. I was in charge of the HVAC systems for the dinning hall and kitchen and later the dorms. Shirley was a volunteer from our Allegan branch.

We own our own business, HVAC contractor and service both commercial and residential. Shirley used to have her own service truck but has semi retired to office work only. I think she got tired of working so hard.

Shirley and I have been married 21 years. We have 7 children, 6 girls and 1 boy. Our girls are all married, and our son is not. We have 17 grandchildren. 7 granddaughters, 10 grandsons of which 4 have graduated from high school.

The Lord has blessed us much over the years, and now the opportunity to work in the office of pastor is a joy. Shirley is a great support and is fast learning the job of pastor wife. Not much credit but lots of work. With the Lords help I look for this to be a great experience.

With soon to be 4 counselors and great inspirations I see visions of much growth and a great experience for all of us. It will be an exciting year.

Richard Blair
